Exhibited Work: CAS_V05 Synthetic Portrait: Vertical Version
Duration: Since 2019
Event Type: Group Screening (Online Pavilion)
Organizer: The Wrong Biennale
Venue: Online / WEB
Founded in 2013 by David Quiles Guilló, The Wrong Biennale has established itself as one of the world’s largest and most dynamic platforms for digital and post-internet art. Functioning as a decentralized, collaborative network of curators, artists, and institutions, the Biennale exists both online and offline, exploring the creative and critical potential of the digital age. Recognized with distinctions such as the SOIS Cultura Award and an honorary mention from the European Commission’s S+T+ARTS Prize, The Wrong celebrates artistic experimentation and the diversity of contemporary digital culture.
Egor Kraft’s CAS_V05 Synthetic Portrait: Vertical Version was featured as part of the Biennale’s ongoing exploration of algorithmic aesthetics and virtual identity. The work, belonging to Kraft’s larger Content Aware Studies series, investigates the reconstruction of historical and human forms through machine learning systems. Presented in the format of a vertically oriented moving portrait, the piece reflects on the ways in which artificial intelligence perceives, generates, and reinterprets cultural artifacts, blurring the boundaries between human authorship, synthetic vision, and digital heritage.
