In 2019, Egor Kraft was shortlisted for Russia’s State Innovation Prize ("Инновация") as Artist of the Year, following his prior nomination in 2017 for the same award in the "New Generation" category.
His nominated work, Ákkta, represents an exploration into non-human cognitive perspectives—addressing themes such as synthetic intelligence, data monopolies, technopolitics, and evolving definitions of the human in the age of algorithmic perception. Originally exhibited in his solo show, the project combines speculative media interventions with philosophical inquiry, compelling viewers to reconsider notions of autonomy, error, and the human condition. Through Ákkta, Kraft invites us to "redefine the ‘human’ after seeing the world through the lens of other synthetic forms of perception and cognition .

Marble, polyamide, machine learning algorithms, custom software, original dataset, multichannel video installation.
A critical and technical exploration of the capacities of AI models to reconstruct missing fragments of objects from classical antiquity and generate synthetic historical documents carved in stone. This work questions the epistemological qualities of AI-accelerated historiography, akin to 'reverse archaeology'.
