Venue: Ars Electronica Festival, Linz, Austria
Ars Electronica is one of the world’s foremost platforms for media art, encompassing digital music, creative innovation, and emerging technologies. The festival brings together artists, scientists, technologists, entrepreneurs, and activists from across the globe, presenting works that investigate the intersections of art, technology, and society. In 2018, the festival featured over 1,300 participants from 54 countries across 12 locations, hosting more than 600 events and attracting over 105,000 visitors.
Egor Kraft’s URL Stone installation engaged with questions of digital materiality, information permanence, and the shifting boundaries between physical and virtual spaces. Through this work, Kraft explored the poetic and speculative dimensions of data as a tangible medium, reflecting on how networked realities intersect with contemporary human experience. The installation situates Kraft within the global discourse of media art, highlighting his interdisciplinary approach to technology, philosophy, and aesthetic inquiry.
