Duration: 10 November 2018 – 23 February 2019
Event type: Solo show
Curator: Elena Strygina
Organizer & Venue: Anna Nova Gallery, St. Petersburg, Russia
This major solo exhibition presented a comprehensive overview of the artist’s key projects from recent years, with the ongoing research series Content Aware Studies at its core. The show featured marble sculptures, GAN-based outputs, generative video installations, and print interventions, all positioned at the intersection of classical aesthetics and machine learning processes. Through these works, the artist examines the blurred boundaries between the real and the virtual, exploring how human irrationality and subconscious reasoning coexist with impartial quantitative machinic agency. The title ÁKKTA refers to a glossary term from the work Air Kiss, suggesting the artist’s broader thematic interest in technocultural mythologies and alternative ontologies.
The exhibition took place at Anna Nova Gallery in St. Petersburg, marking the largest solo presentation to date at the gallery. It emphasised the artist’s international practice and engagement with globally significant institutions and formats.
