Navigating the Digital Realm at the European Parliament DG Connect in Brussels, curated by Christophe De Jaeger, presents a selection of contemporary artworks that investigate the intersections of art, technology, and society. The exhibition emphasizes how artists operate as both explorers and innovators, testing the boundaries of emerging technologies—from artificial intelligence and biotechnology to quantum computing and Extended Realities (XR). By doing so, they act as catalysts for innovation across diverse fields, including robotics, urbanism, automotive design, social media, and blockchain, highlighting the social, ethical, and cultural implications of technological advances.
The Content Aware Studies series featured in the exhibition examines how algorithmic and generative processes can reinterpret historical and cultural artifacts, exploring the ways in which AI and computational systems mediate perception, memory, and narrative. Through these works, the exhibition underscores the artist’s role in both anticipating and critically reflecting on the future trajectories of technology in everyday life.
