Exhibited Work: Content Aware Studies (Series)
Duration: 14 December 2018
Event Type: Group Show
Organizer: Pulsar Art Prize
Venue: Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM), Paris, FRA
The Pulsar Open Art Prize is the first collaborative award dedicated to fostering dialogue between the arts and emerging digital technologies. Conceived as a platform for cross-disciplinary creation, the prize celebrates artworks that merge aesthetic, scientific, and technological innovation.
Egor Kraft’s Content Aware Studies series was presented as part of the 2018 Pulsar Art Prize exhibition, highlighting the artist’s critical engagement with the intersection of artificial intelligence, archaeology, and cultural memory. In the series, machine learning algorithms are trained to reconstruct lost or fragmented classical sculptures, exposing both the technical limitations and philosophical implications of algorithmic imagination. The work questions the ontological status of cultural artifacts and the role of AI as a contemporary myth-making tool within processes of preservation and invention.
