Duration: 11 April 2024
Event type: Discussion
Organizer: STRP Festival | Co-organizer: Baltan Laboratories
Venue: STRP Festival, Eindhoven, Netherlands
Within the STRP Scenario discussion, Kraft engaged with critical questions surrounding the socio-ecological and political implications of contemporary technological systems. The session, framed under Baltan Laboratories’ year-long program Technologies Otherwise, explored how algorithmic infrastructures reproduce societal hierarchies and ecological imbalances.
Kraft contributed by examining the role of distributed technologies, AI, and digital infrastructures in shaping both human and non-human relations. His insights interrogated how artistic interventions can propose alternative structures for financial, energy, and algorithmic systems, making these interventions experientially accessible. Moderated by Baltan co-director Lorenzo Gerbi, the discussion connected artistic research, speculative design, and critical technological practices, situating Kraft’s work within the broader discourse on emancipatory and ecologically aware technology design.
The event is part of ARTeCHÓ, a European initiative funded by the Creative Europe program, supporting collaborative exploration of blockchain, Crypto Art, and peer-to-peer technological systems for the cultural sector.
